Majlis Perbandaran Langkawi Bandaraya Pelancongan (MPLBP) comprises of a cluster of 99 tropical islands on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, approximately 30 km from Kuala Perlis and 51 km from Kuala Kedah on the Mainland. The main island is known as Langkawi Island. These islands are shrouded by mystifying myths and legends, filled with giants and garudas, warriors and heavenly princesses, great wars and love stories. A haven of natural beauty, these islands are probably unparalleled to any other places in South East Asia. The beautiful beaches offer relaxing getaways under the tropical sunshine. The crystal clear water around these islands is well suited for water sports and recreational activities. The charming sea creatures beneath the waters of Langkawi seems inviting the avid divers.
