The Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) was established on the 18th of February 1992 under the Companies Act of 1965, to promote a clear understanding of Islam through various programs and activities such as seminars, workshops, consultation, training and through publications. IKIM was launched on the 3rd of July 1992 by The Honorable Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia.
