Yayasan Islam Kelantan (or YIK) is a government organization responsible for the propagation and spread the teachings of Islam and religious education and Arabic language in Kelantan. YIK was established on July 1, 1974 under the operation of Kelantan Enactment number 9/1968 (Kelantan Islamic Foundation for Higher Education) with the name of the Department of Religious Schools Bihar (JASA). At that time, the office is located in Lundang, Kota Bharu. In June 1979, YIK has been re-registered under the Kelantan Enactment Number 5/1979 to be named the Kelantan Islamic Education Foundation (YPINK). The institution was amended again by the Kelantan Enactment, number 8/1982 (effective from 1 st. March 1983) and was named the Kelantan Islamic Foundation (YIK).
